What is Regular Giving?
The Fire Fighters Charity’s Regular Giving scheme (previously known as the Gift Aid scheme, or Covenants) allows our supporters to donate to us on a regular basis via standing order from their bank account or, if they work within the fire service, from their payroll or pension.
Why is Regular Giving so important to the charity?
The Fire Fighters Charity’s Regular Giving scheme is a vital source of income for the Charity – contributing over £1.5 million every year towards the £9 million needed by the Charity. As a constant and stable income, it also allows the Charity to employ long-term planning in respect of its services.
The Regular Giving scheme also allows us to easily take advantage of the Government’s Gift Aid policy. This allows charities to retrieve the basic rate of tax (up to the value of your annual tax contribution) back on all donations from UK income and capital gains taxpayers - even from a one off donation. In fact it allows us to get an extra 28% extra FREE, at no extra cost to you!
