The Fire Fighters Charity
Now in its third year, the 2010 National Schools’ Fire Safety Week is taking place from 4th - 8th October and will focus on the topic, ‘Matches & Lighters: Tools not Toys’.
The Fire Fighters Charity and The Communities and Local Government Fire Kills Campaign launched National Schools' Fire Safety Week in 2008, to help reduce the number of children who are killed or injured in fires each year.
Schools throughout the country are being invited to take part in the campaign, which is aimed at children following the Key Stage 1 curriculum. Teachers can request a resource pack containing everything they need for the week including lesson plans, educational games and daily activities to do with their class.
The campaign is led by Neenaw the fire engine, and will teach children valuable fire safety lessons, encouraging them to take a responsible attitude to the dangers of fire.
Visit www.nationalschoolsfiresafetyweek.com to find out more, where you will find a wealth of information and an interactive children's zone with lots of fun and educational fire safety games and activities.
If you would like to take part in this year's National Schools' Fire Safety Week then you can request your resource pack here or by calling 01202 864 671.
