Get Fit - Feel Fantastic Charity Event

Supporting The Fire Fighters Charity by taking part in the Get Fit - Feel Fantastic event is a great way to both raise money and make a difference to the way that you look and feel. Plus – it couldn’t be easier, because you decide what your challenge is. You can do this as an individual or as a team.

Step 1 – Contact The Fire Fighters Charity Fundraising Coordinator on Tel: 01256 366 566 or email fundraising@firefighterscharity.org.uk so that we can send you sponsorship forms and give you advice as to how to set up your own Just Giving Page.  We will also put you in touch with your Regional Fundraiser who will be able to give you practical advice and support.

Step 2 - Decide on your challenge

·You set your own target, be it to improve your fitness levels or to lose a few pounds

e.g. ‘My target is to lose 7lbs over the next 2 months commencing on (start date) and concluding on (finish date) – please sponsor me for every pound that I loose.

·My target is to improve my fitness levels over the next 2 months my aim is to be able to run 4 miles in 30 minutes. Or do 100 sit ups in under three minutes or to be able to skip for 10 minutes without stopping. You may decide that you want to train to swim a mile, or even a length of your local pool depending on how competent you are at swimming.

Step 2 – Decide on your own timescale.

Step 3 – Write a short narrative to accompany your sponsorship form or the brief on your Just Giving site so that all of your sponsors know what you are aiming for.

Step 4 – Complete your challenge and collect your sponsorship money. We will provide you with a bank slip to pay the money directly into the charity’s bank account.

Step 5 – Submit your narrative to enter your bid to be the considered for the title of

                                      UK’s Healthiest Fire Service Workplace          

Your challenge can be as diverse as you want it to be. Instead of losing weight you may choose to stop smoking, at the end of the day it is a challenge that is personal to you.
