This fantastic challenge is now in its 5th year and guaranteed to be bigger and better than ever! Last year the event raised £6k for the Fire Fighters Charity, and the organisers hope to reach £10k this year!
The challenge consists of a long walk (23 miles) and a short walk (14 miles), so you can take part at the distance that suits you. The long walk starts off from Ambleside Fire Station, and takes in Fairfield, St. Sunday Crag, Patterdale Hotel (at which point the short walk starts), High Dodd and Askham Village, finishing up at Jubile House, Penrith, the home of the Fire Fighters Charity Therapy and Recuperation Centre.
The event is open to walkers aged 14 and over, as teams or individuals, and there will be team trophies to be won. All finishers will receive a medal, certificate and plastic water bottle for taking part.
Entry fee is £13, or £12 for LDWA & FRS members, or £14 on the day. Entry fee includes BBQ at finish, and use of pool and Jacuzzi at Jubilee House.
