By doing this, we can add it to our National Car Wash map and send you supporting materials. Advertise the event a few weeks in advance via social media if possible. Please remember to tag us in any posts you share. Put up posters, hand out leaflets and email different members of the community before the event (schools, community centres, shops). Place posters and/or banners in front of the station to promote the event. Also ask your FRS communications team to promote it externally. Use balloons to highlight the event. Consider discussing a local press release with your Regional Fundraiser - the charity may be able to support with this Order community fire safety materials to hand out on the day, including road safety leaflets (liaise with local police if needed). Car washing Request road barriers from operational support if required Plan the route that cars will drive in and out of the station or yard Ensure you have refreshments ready for the event Ensure all equipment needed has been ordered and is available in advance of the event Have sun tan lotion available. During the event Promotion and communication Share updates on social media throughout the day, with clear details on where people can come and during which times. Strong images and videos are always good to share - and make sure to tag us in any posts Have two or three staff on forecourt to encourage cars passing by to enter (they may even donate without getting their car washed) Set up a community fire safety table with road safety leaflets Car washing Brief all staff attending on any health and safety aspects Set up a refreshment table with plenty of water Have first aid equipment readily available Rotate roles every hour and ensure regular water/snack breaks Place a safety officer on either side of the car for safety when cars are moving Brief all staff of car route in and out of station/yard, pointing out hazards Set in hydrant and cone off area Ensure twinned hydrant lengths are in a safe place and do not obstruct route in and out Site appliance away from car route to limit noise pollution whilst washing the cars Flake off both hose reels ready for use on either side of route, use hose ramps where necessary Delegate roles to personnel for each station: wetting cars, soaping and washing cars, rinsing cars, window cleaners, wheel cleaners, collecting money, community fire safety, safety officers Brief crews which station they will be working in next for hourly rotation If possible, have 4 washers per car, (1 front, 1 rear, 1 nearside, 1 offside).

- [Peak District Ultra Challenge](https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/event/peak-district-ultra-challenge): The basecamp hub in idyllic Bakewell will welcome adventurers who will test themselves in the fabulous Peak District National Park; you can join and fundraise for the Fire Fighters Charity. A full 100km challenge takes a tough and varied figure of 8 route through Derbyshire’s finest scenery.
- [Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge](https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/event/cotswold-way-ultra-challenge): The Cirencester basecamp is the start of the 100km looped route through the heart of the Cotswolds, providing a stunning setting to test yourself – and you can join and fundraise for the Fire Fighters Charity. Rolling hills, villages, the Cotswold Way, footpaths and trails, with some fabulous views en route.
- [Lake District Ultra Challenge](https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/event/lake-district-ultra-challenge): Take on England’s finest countryside at your pace and fundraise for the Fire Fighters Charity. Challenge basecamp is in Kendal, and it’s a 100km loop taking in a couple of tough hills, the Garburn Pass, historic Ambleside, a halfway point by Lake Windermere, forests and nature reserves – with some stunning views en-route.
- [London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge](https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/event/london-2-brighton-ultra-challenge): The ‘original Ultra Challenge’, you can take it on and fundraise for the Fire Fighters Charity. The Capital to Coast route will test your grit and determination. Richmond-Upon-Thames is the start, and it’s over the North Downs with Surrey and Sussex countryside to halfway at Turners Hill. The full 100km route heads over the South Downs before the welcome sight of the Brighton coastline comes into view.
- [Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge](https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/event/jurassic-coast-ultra-challenge): Take on Spectacular World Heritage coastline and fundraise for the Fire Fighters Charity. A start in Corfe Castle, the route heads down to Swanage, and along through Lulworth Cove, past Durdle Door, with ups and downs to Weymouth halfway. For full 100km challengers, it’s past Portland Bill, Chesil Beach, and on to West Bay before a finish line celebration in Bridport.
- [Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge](https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/event/isle-of-wight-ultra-challenge): Great challenges need great settings, and up to 2,000 adventurers will take on stunning coastal path – all out to push themselves further – and you can fundraise for the Fire Fighters Charity. It’s along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles, and up Cowes. For Full Island challengers it’s on to Ventnor, and back to our welcome basecamp in Chale after an epic 106km journey.
