The Fire Fighters Charity

Therapy

Did you know?

Partners can now rent accommodation from the charity, whilst their partner is receiving therapy treatment. Please contact the centre for more details.

TherapyA fire fighter's job is inherently dangerous, and sadly physical injuries are often sustained whilst rescuing members of the general public. Other sections of the fire community also suffer from injuries which affect them personally or professionally. The Charity offers residential therapy programmes at centres in Cumbria (Jubilee) and Devon (Harcombe House).

Run by teams of dedicated professionals, both therapy centres offer a wide range of treatments, including exercise therapy and physiotherapy - often helping fire fighters to return to work after career-threatening injuries.

How therapy helps...

TherapyThe Charity provides specialist therapy services to help beneficiaries - serving and retired fire service personnel and their dependants - recover from injury, illness, surgery, or in some cases, stress. Being devoted to the fire service, The Fire Fighters Charity has built up an unrivalled knowledge of the treatments fire service personnel and their dependants require. Run by dedicated teams of professionals, the centres are able to offer a wide range of traditional and complementary treatments during one or two week residential programmes. Treatments include:

  • Exercise therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Health education
  • Group and individual sessions

Each client receives an individually tailored programme of treatment on arrival, and a welcoming environment and friendly staff help put clients at ease as soon as they arrive at the centre.
