The Fire Fighters Charity

Trusts & Grants

Charitable Trusts and Grant Giving Organisations

The Fire Fighters Charity's mission is to support vulnerable groups within the Fire Service community including: disabled or seriously ill adults and children, the elderly, and those living in poverty. Child burns survivors and their families from all walks of life also form part of our beneficiary group. It costs over £9 million every year to keep the Charity running, and with no government funding we rely exclusively upon the generosity of the general public and other charitable organisations.

In addition to our core running costs there are ample opportunities to fund specific projects or items of equipment and you might like to consider:

  • £750 for the provision of a one week therapy and rehabilitation programme at one of our centres for a local beneficiary.
  • £350 for a one week residential recuperative break for a beneficiary recovering from a life changing event.
  • £3,000 would cover the cost of welcoming a family with a disabled or seriously ill child for a week-long Child and Family Programme.
  • £1,250 for the purchase of a mattress for the prevention of pressure ulcers for beneficiaries with limited mobility.
  • £2,500 for the purchase of a wheelchair accessible Upper Body Ergometer.

These are just a few of the possibilities for which we need funding. However if you would like to know more about our work or make a donation on behalf of your Trust, please email trusts@firefighterscharity.org.uk, or call 01256 366 566.

Thank you

We would also like to thank all those Trusts that have given such valuable financial aid to our Charity over the years helping us to support our beneficiaries in their time of need. A list of those who generously supported The Fire Fighters Charity last year can be seen in our Annual Review. More recently we have been fortunate to receive funding for a new sewage plant at Harcombe; therapy equipment at Jubilee; the cost of a burns weekend; the provision of support to beneficiaries from Dundee; powered lift chairs and many other items.
