Northamptonshire Crew Manager Jamie Thompson was left with life-threatening injuries after a 12.5m fall from a training tower. 10 months later, with the support of The Fire Fighters Charity, this 38-year-old firefighter is literally back on his feet.

Jamie explains: β€œIt was about mid-morning, just before lunchtime. We were doing an exercise for an open day that was happening the following weekend. Myself and a colleague were going to do the first rescue as part of a demonstration. It was going to be a very basic pick off rescue from a training tower. The first part went well but as soon as I picked him up and we both came out of the window of the third floor, the system failed and we ended up falling 12.5m to a concrete floor.”
