Be a part of the world’s biggest half marathon on its 40th anniversary!
The Great North Run is the greatest half marathon in the world, taking place annually in North East England each September. The run was devised by former Olympic 10,000m bronze medallist and BBC Sport commentator Brendan Foster.
Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne, the 13.1 mile route takes runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge. The route, lined by thousands of supporters, leads runners to South Shields where at the top of Prince Edward Road the view of the sea is one of the most welcoming sights along the whole course.
We have now filled all our Charity race places for the Great North Run 2020.

Stuck for ideas on how to fundraise? Firstly, it’s wise to break your fundraising target down into manageable chunks. Plan local events such as pub quizzes, car boot sales or company cake days and be sure to create your own personal web page on JustGiving. Social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter can also generate awareness.
