Retired Greater Manchester firefighter Steve Dyer recently spent a week at Marine Court for some time to rest and recharge after a series of health battles. Jacqui Marwick, a Community Safety Advisor with Lancashire FRS, shares how we supported her and how it inspired an epic fundraiser in 2024. Retired firefighter, Ken Brown, suffered a stroke in 2010 which left him with limited mobility. Here, he shares how our nursing team at Jubilee House helped him build the strength to walk again. Retired Lancashire firefighter Barry Hornsby saw his life turned upside down when he suffered a stroke while playing golf. However, with our teams’ help, he’s now able to walk again and is focusing on the future.
