Everyone needs support sometimes. Hear from some of the people Fire Fighters Charity has helped to move forward with positive change, personal achievement, progress and transformation in their health and wellbeing.
Ivy Greenwell’s husband Harry has been cared for by our nursing team twice, after a serious accident and subsequent stroke left him paralysed on one side. Here, she shares why she’s donated £1,000 to us… Joyce Glover, an Admin Assistant with Tyne and Wear FRS, says the impact our support had on her husband Terry was life-changing after he suffered a stroke - which had impacted his mental health. Watch Manager Caroline Saunderson attended one of our Kickstart Programmes after feeling like she was in a rut. She says having a focused week, just for her, was exactly what she needed to rejig her lifestyle. Cory Whitworth feared his firefighting career could be over when he was injured while playing rugby in 2022. However, he says your donations ensured he had the right support to help him get back on the run. Keith and Gillian Lupton have visited Jubilee House, our centre in Cumbria, three times – providing Keith, who suffered a stroke, with one-to-one support from our Nursing team, while offering Gillian a break.
