Hampshire firefighters row the Atlantic in aid of us
Firefighters Stu Vince and Craig Sadler battled extreme conditions and even hallucinations to complete a 3,000-mile row in aid of us, and to raise awareness of mental health.
Firefighters Stu Vince and Craig Sadler battled extreme conditions and even hallucinations to complete a 3,000-mile row in aid of us, and to raise awareness of mental health. We were delighted to join fire service personnel and fellow supporters at Elvis & Kresse's new workshop to see the incredible process of transforming old fire hoses into luxury fashion accessories. Graeme Browning is one of our star volunteers, having raised thousands of pounds for us through a series of events and – more recently – by creating Christmas cards, calendars and mugs in aid of us. Abbie Hayes, a 20-year-old from Hampshire, took on a huge challenge in aid of us, walking 5 miles in a full leg frame, as a way of saying thank you to the firefighters that saved her life following a horror car crash. A group of children working with Homestart East Surrey were invited to an Open Day with crews from Surrey FRS – before enjoying a very special reading of our book, The Wolf Was Not Sleeping.
