Few people understand the demands and pressures put on firefighters every day like Dr Sabrina Cohen-Hatton – and now she is joining the Charity in encouraging everyone to share a moment of calm as part of our fundraising campaign, Brew With a Crew, in partnership with Typhoo Tea.

We are inviting you to join a live webinar and Q&A with Dr Cohen-Hatton, who is Chief Fire Officer with West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, on 19 May 2021 at 2pm as she shares an insight into her extraordinary life and experiences in the fire and rescue service over the last 20 years.

As well as progressing to the top of her career in the fire service, Dr Cohen-Hatton has overcome years of homelessness to pursue her dream – and has gone on to not only speak openly about her experiences to inspire others, but also write a book about them, titled The Heat of the Moment.

According to Penguin’s synopsis, the book “immerses us in this extraordinary world [of firefighting]; from scenes of devastation and crisis, through triumphs of bravery, to the quieter moments when she questions herself. Revealing her own story for the very first time, she recounts her years spent sleeping rough and her passion for a career that allows her to rescue others as she was never rescued herself”. Learn more about The Heat of the Moment book, authored by Dr Sabrina Cohen-Hatton, here.

To mark our Brew With a Crew campaign, everyone who attends the webinar will get a chance to win a personalised signed copy of the book.
