Medicash, a Liverpool based provider of healthcare and cash plans has donated to us from The Medicash Charitable Trust, an organisation that has donated over £1m to health-related causes over the last 10 years.

The donation will fund specialist equipment to be used at Jubilee House, our rehabilitation centre in Penrith, Cumbria. This equipment comprises of an electric hoist and standing aid to help people rise and stand, enabling them to manoeuvre themselves into different positions more easily. It can also be used for exercise, promoting recovery and boosting confidence and wellbeing.

Nicky Patton, Rehabilitation Services Lead at The Fire Fighters Charity said: “This new equipment will make a huge difference to the nursing and rehabilitation staff at Jubilee House and to our beneficiaries. We know that our beneficiaries benefit hugely – both physically and psychologically – when their mobility is maintained and we are extremely grateful to Medicash for giving us the funding to pay for it.”

Andy Abernethy, Marketing Manager of Medicash added: “The Fire Fighters Charity performs important work for thousands of people who have served our communities. We are pleased to have been able to pay for this equipment which will improve their quality of life and make the nursing staff’s work easier.”
