Marine Court Exercise Therapists Mark Greaves Lord and Rachel Rees along with firefighter Shelley Robinson and friend Nina Simpson last week took on The Nuts Challenge, a gruelling assault course in Dorking, Surrey.

The 7-28k adventure consists of a water assault course, climbing, crawling and challenging obstacles all the way round.  Joined by ‘Fred’ a 40 kilo rescue dummy encased on his very own stretcher the four completed what seemed a very impossible task.

Shelley decided to take on the challenge after accessing the charities services and said:

“This is quite personal to me as the charity have helped me get back to work when I was off sick.”

She continued: “The two guys I am running with from the charity have helped me when I have been down to see them, and I have roped Nina in.”

Mark who works as an Exercise Therapist at Marine Court in Little Hampton said: “It’s such a fantastic cause, we work in it and see it every day the job that the fire fighter personnel do.

He added: “For anyone looking to donate to The Fire Fighters Charity whether it’s for our cause or anyone else’s please do.  From seeing it first hand at the centre and having a close infinity to a lot of the guys they do a fantastic job for us, sacrifice a huge amount so if anyone can do anything to help them when they need our help please do, there may be a time when you or your loved ones need their help.”
