To mark our 75th anniversary, we’re asking you to take on your own 75 miles challenge to help support members of the fire services community in need. The distance is set, but how you get there is completely up to you.

Here, in his own words, Flame discusses why he’s taking on this challenge:

Flame’s 75 Miles Page

“I am not a firefighter… I am a supporter of The Fire Fighters Charity and Flame’s challenges over the last three years wearing full firefighter kit has shown me just how tough it must be for our UK Fire & Rescue Service personnel, not only firefighters, but support staff and volunteers across the whole of the UK and if I can raise some money to help our Charity provide the service that they so deserve…that is my aim!

“#My75Miles was a great reason to get the firefighter kit back on and I have been training over the last six months, building up to my challenge which I’ll be doing in the first weekend of May.”

“The challenge is to run in full fire fighter kit with BA Set (30kgs of extra weight) from Bristol Uniforms in Bristol to MSA Safety in Devizes and then onto Hampshire Fire & Rescue HQ in Eastleigh, Hampshire. The total distance is 75.4 miles so perfect for Flame’s #My75mile challenge.

“This will be the final challenge for Flame and it is fitting to use the three organisations (Bristol Uniforms, MSA Safety and Hampshire Fire & Rescue) as part of this last challenge. They have supported Flame over the last 3 years with the supply of firefighter kit and I want to use Flame’s #My75miles to personally thank them for their support.”

“The Flame challenge started in May 2015 with a 5km Park Run at Bushey Park in London. 19 challenges later running marathons, half marathons and 10km runs, climbing 18 mountains, meeting some amazing people this 75 mile run will be my 20th challenge and sponsorship looks set to break £5,000 in total over the 3 years so this is a huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored me, supported me and encouraged me over this challenge.”
