We’re delighted to announce that The Fire Fighters Charity is now recruiting for a new Psychological Services Lead.

In April we announced that supporting the mental health of the fire community and bolstering our psychological services was amongst the top priorities outlined in our 2017-2020 Strategic Plan.

“As today is World Mental Health Day, what better day is there to begin the recruitment of such an important role for us?”

Dr Jill Tolfrey, Chief Executive

This new position, leading the centre-based psychological services team, will allow us to support more people with mental health concerns. The recruitment of an experienced mental health professional, meanwhile, will allow us to drive our work in this field forward, meaning that we can plan for the long term delivery of a robust and effective psychological support service.

Dr Jill Tolfrey, Chief Executive of The Fire Fighters Charity, said of the new role: “As today is World Mental Health Day, what better day is there to begin the recruitment of such an important role for us? It is also, of course, a timely opportunity to remind everyone across the fire community that we are here for them if they are experiencing poor mental health. I’d therefore like to remind everyone that our Services Access Line is open throughout the week on 0800 3898820. So, if you are struggling, please call us.”
