Steve: “Your support means so much to me”

Devastatingly Hampshire firefighter Steve Holder lost his wife, Sharon last year, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. However, in her memory he ran an incredible 20 marathons in 2016 to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity

“Sharon fought the spread of this horrendous disease with great dignity and courage for over seven years,” explains Steve, talking proudly of his late wife.

“When she was first diagnosed the Charity was quick to provide her with much needed support and provided us both with a recuperation break at Harcombe House. More recently the wonderful staff at Marine Court are providing me with invaluable support and they continue to do so.”

In memory of his wife, Steve ran twenty marathons in 2016, one for each year they were married. Steve says; “Sharon would want us to continue to support the charities who helped her and who she supported, so please donate. After all, The Fire Fighters Charity may have to put me back together again after all of those miles!”

Steve added: “Sharon loved life and lived it completely with such happiness and enthusiasm. She had a positive impact on everyone she met, and is missed so desperately every day. Your support means so much. Knowing Sharon is being remembered and that you’re behind me will hopefully help me complete this challenge.”
