Donate in place of Christmas cards
Not sending as many Christmas cards nowadays, encourage people to make a charity donation instead.
Instead, you could message all your friends and family festive good wishes and let them know all about the work Fire Fighters Charity does. You can even set up a JustGiving page to share with friends and encourage them to donate too.
Christmas Jumper Day
Raid the wardrobe and dig out a Christmas Jumper and ask friends and family to do the same to raise money for Fire Fighters Charity.
Why not take it a step further with a festive fancy dress day! Ask everyone to dress up as their favourite festive character or emergency services hero. This is a great photo opportunity too, so please share your photos on social media and tag us!
Santa or Reindeer Dash
Organise your own Santa/ Reindeer Dash or dress up as Santa/ Reindeer for your local park run. A sponsored run is a great way to have fun while keeping active. You can choose your distance, meaning every age can take part, and costumes are an absolute must.
You can split the event out and have a children’s, adults and set distance route.
Carol Singing
Spread some festive cheer by singing Christmas carols to your family, friends, neighbours, and in your community.
Ask your local shopping Centre or supermarket if you can have a slot for Carol Singing & make sure you have plenty of buckets on hand to collect the generous donations.
You can add this to traditional supermarket bucket collections for added interest and generous donations.
Christmas Fair
The festive period is a great time to bring people together – to organise an event to raise money for Fire Fighters Charity. People are always looking for unique and thoughtful gifts to give to loved ones & this could help bring in lots of people who are feeling generous & looking to spend.
You can involve local sellers and community groups – why not talk to your local WI/ Etsy Sellers Group and see if they’d have a stand?
You could even add a visit from Santa or have a coffee morning as part of the event too – to help raise even more.
Bake Sale
Hold a festive bake sale or coffee morning to raise some festive spirit. Include a cake decorating competition and sell the cakes afterwards to help raise even more and get people involved.
You could also invite craft stalls and hold a raffle to raise even more.
Festive Quiz
Invite your friends and family to a festive quiz night – ask them for a small donation to take part in your quiz & why not add a raffle to help bring in even more on the evening.
Boxing Day Dip
Take on one of the many Boxing Day Swims, make sure to stay safe by taking part in a local, pre-organised event in the sea, river or lake near you.
Get sponsorship by setting up a JustGiving page and promoting it on social media and with friends & family.
Selling Unwanted Gifts
We all naturally have a post-Christmas clear out, so why not ask people to donate their unwanted Christmas presents for a future raffle? Or hold a festive eBay sale of unwanted gifts, donating the proceeds. You can do this by going to eBay for Charity and selling in aid of Fire Fighters Charity.
