Northern Ireland firefighter Keith Shields faced months off work when he was left dealing with long-term symptoms of Covid-19 – before being told he had three blocked arteries in his heart. He says our Hope Programme helped him deal with the mental toll it had on him. Paul Yates is taking on the 2023 London Marathon in memory of his partner Cathy’s brother, Andy Moore, who passed away in 2020. Paul now hopes to raise awareness of the mental health support we offer. Georgia Phillipson saw her professional rugby career abruptly end due to an injury, and feared it’d also mean the end of her being a firefighter – but she says our support got her back on the run again. Anne Daultrey has always been very proactive when it comes to health and fitness after retirement, but she says she needed a helping hand after some surgery – and thanks to your donations, we were able to support her. Katie Grant took on the 2023 London Marathon in aid of us having experienced our support first-hand.
