Here for every UK Fire Cadet

If you're a UK Fire Cadet, here's all you need to know about how we can support you, how you can support us and how, together, we can do amazing things for our fire family.

For the future of our fire family...

At Fire Fighters Charity, we're here for the whole fire service community – and that includes you.

Whether you're just starting your journey with UK Fire Cadets, or already serving your community with pride, we’re proud to stand alongside you.

As a Fire Cadet, you're part of the future of the fire service, and we're here to support your health and wellbeing every step of the way – now and in the years to come.

How we help

We may not offer many direct clinical services to under-18s, but we’re still committed to helping you thrive as part of the fire service community. Here’s the support and care available to you as a Fire Cadet:

  • Advice, information and signposting: we can help by guiding your parent or guardian with the advice and resources to support you.
  • Rest and Recharge breaks: cadets under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Physical rehabilitation: age 17+ with a guardian, if clinically appropriate
  • Psychological support: available from age 18

Get involved and make a difference

By fundraising for Fire Fighters Charity, you’ll be helping real people in the fire service who need support – from firefighters recovering from injury, to families going through tough times, to control staff struggling with stress.

This is your chance to step up. Run an event. Take on a challenge. Do something bold, fun, or totally your own. Every penny you raise helps someone in the fire family get the help they need, when they need it most.

Ways to support

Who’s eligible?

If you’re a Fire Cadet engaged in a recognised Fire Services Youth Scheme – one that is:

  • Administered by a Fire Authority, and
  • Supervised by a Chief Fire Officer
    And you’re:
  • Volunteering in activities related to fire safety, emergency service work, or youth scheme management

Then you’re part of our fire family, and we’re here for you.
