Joyce Glover, an Admin Assistant with Tyne and Wear FRS, says the impact our support had on her husband Terry was life-changing after he suffered a stroke - which had impacted his mental health. Gary Chamberlain, a retired Crew Manager from Leicestershire FRS, shared with us his passion for ensuring all retired members of our fire services community stay connected. Ross Allen is taking on the 2023 London Marathon in aid of us after his best friend was left needing 24-hour care. We’ve supported his family in the years since, and this is Ross’ way of saying thank you. Anne Daultrey has always been very proactive when it comes to health and fitness after retirement, but she says she needed a helping hand after some surgery – and thanks to your donations, we were able to support her. Alex Abrams, 23, is taking on two and a half marathons this year in memory of her dad, who died suddenly at work in November 2022. Here she shares why supporting our charity meant so much to him – and now to her as well…
