We’re proud to share our Annual Report and Accounts for 2025/26, showcasing a huge year for Fire Fighters Charity.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the dedication of our staff and volunteers, we were able to help more people than ever before – an incredible 13,507 individuals.
Demand for our services continues to grow, but so does our determination to be there for everyone who needs us – as reflected in the launch of our new strategy and brand this week.
Some highlights from the last year included:
- 49% growth in wellbeing support through visits to our centres and attendance at community-based programmes
- 25% increase in practical support provided, including financial assistance
- 64% increase in personal wellbeing resources accessed online
- £4.2 million in in individual giving income, up £53K on 2024/25
- £2.4 million raised through community fundraising
In her opening message, our Chief Executive, Sherine Wheeler, says: “Throughout the year, I have seen first-hand the difference that timely, tailored intervention can make. Whether helping someone recover from injury or illness, supporting them through trauma, strengthening their wellbeing before problems escalate, or enabling a smoother transition into retirement, the outcomes can be life-changing. We regularly hear from people who tell us that the care and support they received restored their confidence, renewed their hope and helped them feel better equipped to move forward through periods of uncertainty.
“While we remain committed to supporting people through injury, illness and crisis, we are increasingly focused on prevention and early intervention. Helping people maintain their physical and psychological wellbeing, build resilience and access support sooner improves outcomes and reduces the long-term impact of the challenges they encounter throughout their careers.
“Looking ahead, our ambition is clear. We will continue to expand our reach, strengthen our income base and make our services more accessible, including through digital channels that enable people to access support wherever and whenever they need it.”
John Baines, Chair of the Board of Trustees, adds in his message: “The charity has continually evolved to meet changing needs since it was founded, combining expert clinical care, practical assistance and wellbeing services with an increasingly accessible digital offer that enables more people to access support in ways that work for them.
“As Chair, I am proud of the difference the charity continues to make. Demand for our services continues to grow, and throughout the year our focus has been on ensuring we can meet more of that need while preserving the quality, independence and compassion that define our support. The progress we have made reflects the dedication of our staff and volunteers, the strength of our leadership, and the trust placed in us by service users, supporters and partners.”
