Demonstrations & activities

Organise action packed demonstrations and activities that draw crowds and showcase the crew’s skills. Make sure you have places for people to make donations nearby.

Firefighting demonstrations

Put on some firefighting demonstrations for the public, they love to see firefighters at work!

Soak the firefighter

Soak the Station Manager or new recruit with a hit the target game.

Hose challenge

Set up a game with targets for people to hit with fire hoses.

Entertainers

Invite local schools, dance troops or choirs to perform for the crowds.


Fun & games

Games for families to get involved with. These could be classic funfair games or firefighting themed. Ask for a suggested donation for everyone taking part.

Face painting stall

Glitter and face painting is always a winner with children and some adults too.

Tombola

Ask local businesses to donate some prizes and raffle them off on the day.

Funfair games

Set up some traditional funfair games such as hook the duck and a coconut shy or a bouncy castle where permitted.

Mascots

Have a mascot for families to take photos with. It could be our mascot Blaze Bear or your fire and rescue service mascot, or both!

Scavenger hunt

Organise a scavenger hunt within the station grounds and whoever finds the clues first wins a prize.

Beat the goalie competition

Take 5 penalty shots against the goalkeeper, can you score all 5 to win a prize!


Food & drink

Keep your visitors happy and raise some money by offering food and drink options, ranging from classic station BBQs to locally baked goods.

Refreshment stands

Invite local catering businesses to sell food and drinks in exchange for a donation or hold your own BBQ.

Bake sale

Invite colleagues and local baking enthusiasts to bake some goodies to sell at a stall.
