Crew Commander, Darran Gough, was invited to Harcombe House with his wife following a difficult few months and a particularly traumatic shout – and he says it was the break they both really needed. Firefighter Rachel Streeting, from Warwickshire FRS, received our support following a back injury which she feared could end her career on operational duty – and she says we helped her mental health, as well as physical. On-call firefighter Ash Mooney was told he only had a 1-3% chance of walking again after a rugby injury. However, he defied the odds and says a visit to us helped him build his strength again. Adam Evans, 30, has completed a 100km cross-country route on foot, with a 2,500m total ascent, to raise funds for us after receiving support for his mental health when he was really struggling. Becci Dickens, an Admin Support Officer with Shropshire FRS, has received our help for both her physical and mental health. She’s now hoping to spread the word round more non-uniform staff like herself.
