Lynn Bow and her late husband, Graham, helped by the FRS and other colleagues, set up the West Midlands Fire Service Charity Shop and she's continued running it at Open Days since he passed away – raising thousands for us. Firefighter Rachel Streeting, from Warwickshire FRS, received our support following a back injury which she feared could end her career on operational duty – and she says we helped her mental health, as well as physical. Steve Johnson has been one of our dedicated volunteers from the moment he started in Cleveland Fire Brigade in 1992. Now, as he retires from his job, he reveals why his roles have been so rewarding – and why he hopes to continue into the future. We’ve supported Phil Maynard for years – firstly with his mental health and more recently following a hip replacement. Now he’s going above and beyond to show his appreciation. Firefighter Uroosa Arshid was inspired to become a Station Rep for the charity having dreamed of joining the fire service and making a difference since she was a child.
