London Fire Brigade firefighter Sam Hayward knows first-hand how important it is to ask for help – and just how life-changing that support can be. Retired Devon and Somerset firefighter, Greg Rowland, has been receiving our physiotherapy support as an outpatient at Harcombe House ever since he was injured in a major road traffic collision. Alison Byrne-Paul, who is married to a Cheshire firefighter, has been receiving support from us at Jubilee House ever since being diagnosed with a severe brain tumour. Nerys Thomas, a Central Response Officer for Mid and West Wales FRS, shares her experience of both our physical health support following an injury, and a Rest and Recharge stay after a family bereavement. Merseyside firefighter, Andy Haslem, received support from us at Jubilee House following surgery on his knee and says it helped him get back on the run and build his confidence again.
