Miriam Heppell is living with a genetic condition which causes chronic pain and seriously impacts her movement. She says the support she’s had, both in a centre and online, has changed her day-to-day life – and it’s all thanks to your donations. Alex Abrams, 23, is taking on two and a half marathons this year in memory of her dad, who died suddenly at work in November 2022. Here she shares why supporting our charity meant so much to him – and now to her as well… Crew Manager Mark Thompson, who works in Control for West Yorkshire FRS, was supported alongside his wife as they struggled with their mental health after losing two family members in a house fire. For Vicky Shakesby, a Group Manager with Humberside FRS, encouraging her colleagues to get in touch with us if they need a helping hand is incredibly important to her. Here she explains why… Thanks to your kind donations, we’ve been able to support Paul Burchett - a firefighter with Humberside FRS – with his physical health and through mounting financial challenges, which in turn had begun impacting his mental health.
