Retired firefighter, Ken Brown, suffered a stroke in 2010 which left him with limited mobility. Here, he shares how our nursing team at Jubilee House helped him build the strength to walk again. Scottish firefighter Dan Cook visited Jubilee House, our centre in Penrith, earlier this year after injuring his leg – and says the support he received helped him get back on the run. Surbjit Ghuman, who’s married to an IT Support Officer with West Midlands FRS, attended our Women’s Wellbeing Week and made lifelong friendships – while boosting her overall wellbeing. Nikki Bridges works as a wholetime and on-call firefighter with Hampshire and Isle of Wight FRS. Here, she recalls attending one of our weeks dedicated to single parents at Harcombe House… Robyn Richardson not only experiences harrowing situations at work but has also been through incredibly difficult times in her personal life. Here she shares why she believes our new 24/7 Crisis Line is such a vital service.
