Kaisha Robertson, whose father is a retired firefighter, is living with long-term health conditions which impact her movement and has been supported by our Physiotherapy and Welfare teams. Firefighter Anton Awramenko and his family were supported by our Welfare Team after he revealed their struggle to include their youngest son, who has learning disabilities, in family activities. Jo Bosworth has been supported by the charity for years, after being diagnosed with MS at a young age. Here she reveals how our Welfare team helped her regain her independence for the first time in years. When Sean Michael was forced to resign from the job he loved as a firefighter due to illness, he struggled to cope amid Covid-19. But he says the support he received from the charity was life-changing. For firefighter Jim Johnson’s wife Karen, the charity has supported her not once, but twice - more recently providing a much-needed break following a cancer diagnosis. Now she’s urging anyone else struggling to reach out.
