Twenty million thanks to you
Our Lottery has raised £20million over the last 20 years and, as we mark its milestone anniversary, what better way is there to reflect on its success than by celebrating the difference it has made to people’s lives?
Our Lottery has raised £20million over the last 20 years and, as we mark its milestone anniversary, what better way is there to reflect on its success than by celebrating the difference it has made to people’s lives? Abbie Hayes, a 20-year-old from Hampshire, took on a huge challenge in aid of us, walking 5 miles in a full leg frame, as a way of saying thank you to the firefighters that saved her life following a horror car crash. Dave Smith, a dedicated charity volunteer, took on a once-in-a-lifetime challenge to raise vital funds for us - and documented the whole experience in a diary. UK outdoor theatre touring company, Heartbreak Productions, kindly chose to support us with one of its four productions this year, Jane Eyre, with collections taking place throughout summer. A group of children working with Homestart East Surrey were invited to an Open Day with crews from Surrey FRS – before enjoying a very special reading of our book, The Wolf Was Not Sleeping.
