An on-call firefighter and two colleagues walked the distance in fire kit and BA, while his wife and her father – also an on-call firefighter – joined them in normal clothing. This year's race will see one firefighter carrying a full BA set, another two in full kit and one dressed as a fire appliance - among many other incredible efforts. Andrew Dickenson is raising funds for us as a thank you to the firefighters who supported his family in the aftermath of the tragedy. Rhys Fitzgerald, an on-call firefighter with Mid and West Wales FRS, is hoping to become the first to summit Mt Everest in full fire kit in 2026 – while raising funds for us.
