During a friendly rugby game between London Fire Brigade and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, Peter suffered a neck injury that required surgery. Here he talks about the difference the Charity made in helping him get back to work.

Following his accident and combined with wear and tear from being a firefighter for 25 years, Peter was faced with having surgery to correct the alignment in his neck.

Wanting to carry on and be on the frontline as a fully operational firefighter and station manager, Peter turned to The Fire Fighters Charity for support.

We spoke to Peter at Marine Court nearing the end of a week on the rehabilitation programme, combining physical activity with support from the Charity’s psychological therapy team.
