Our January Bag it and Bank it Recycling Championship has achieved record-breaking success this year, as our amazing supporters, fire stations and members of the public have helped us soar past our target of £80,000 – and we couldn’t be more grateful.

We’ve seen more than 380 tonnes of unwanted clothing dropped off at our clothing banks outside 928 fire stations – across 44 fire and rescue services – not only helping to divert it away from landfill, but also helping us to continue to be there for our fire services community when they need us most.

January 2022 Grand Total

You’ve helped to donate 386 tonnes of unwanted clothes in January, raising a record-breaking £84,927 for our Charity. That’s more than £10,000 over the total raised in 2020 – an incredible achievement!

We had twice as many fire stations collecting over a tonne of clothing this year – 58 stations altogether, compared to 27 in 2020 when we last ran the competition.
