Following the success of our 2021 Child and Family Weeks, as well as a steady increase in demand, we will be offering even more of our beneficiaries the chance to attend in 2022 with five weeks held across the year.

Families with children with additional needs, young carers, children or parents living with difficult health conditions and a number of others are invited to come together for a much-needed break and a fun week packed full of activities at Harcombe House, our centre in Devon.

The weeks offer the whole family the chance to relax together, with a full timetable of activities to keep them all entertained – from animal workshops to crafts, nature walks, bush craft, swimming and more. Mostly, it’s a chance for them to spend time together with other families who may be facing similar challenges.

Now we’re planning five new programmes throughout 2022. The dates are as follows:

  • April 11 – 15
  • May 30 – June 3
  • July 25 – 29
  • October 24 – 28

Carrie Pearce, the Charity’s Welfare Services Lead, says: “Our Child and Family Weeks have grown in success over the last year and I’m delighted we’ll now be offering more of them, ensuring even more of our beneficiaries can access our services for themselves and their families.

“These weeks offer a structured activity programme for families who experience additional needs. It provides a much-needed break away from the challenges and demands of everyday life, to enable time for them to spend together in a safe, secure and supported environment and to have the opportunity to meet other families in similar situations with whom they can share experiences and form friendships.”
