A group of firefighters from Oldham cycled from Oldham's Coliseum Theatre to Rome's Colosseum in just 12 days. Uppies and Downies is a 300-year-old traditional game in Workington, Cumbria, and after returning for its 2022 event, members from its charity committee donated an incredible £8,000 to us – after making us its chosen cause. 5th Legion join in fundraising events to boost the amount being raised for us – and members have enjoyed incredible success in just a few years. Firefighter Stephen Wharton is the winner of a Pride of Britain Award after rescuing a boy who was submerged under water for 25 minutes. Charlie Thompson, a firefighter with Greater Manchester FRS, attempted to break a Guinness World Record in full fire kit in support of the Charity.
